Hamline University continues to dig a deeper hole. Its president's newest statement once again casts the university as combatting "harm" and complains about the “purported stand-off between academic freedom and equity." Hamline is the one who has been putting the two at odds!
Also of note: She claims it's a "privileged reaction" to cite academic freedom in criticism of their nonrenewal of an adjunct professor. As @adamsteinbaugh notes, her annual salary is...$500k.
Reminder that nearly all of the laws keeping the government open ended up needing Democratic votes even when Republicans were in charge. A lot of the McCarthy holdouts have lost omnibus fight after omnibus fight because they haven’t had anywhere close to 218 to block them.

The Paul Ryan/Nancy Pelosi governing coalition holds easily.
Pelosi shows once again her votes are crucial to keeping govt open.

I'm seeing people comparing Hamlin to Eriksen, but unfortunately I think it is more concerning.
Eriksen was already awake and stable an hour after the incident. Hamlin is still in critical condition. Apparently he does have a pulse which must at least be somewhat of a good sign.
