We find that especially the combination of information and cognitive resources increases strategic voting if people have sufficient incentives to vote strategically.

On top of the same strategic situation, we manipulated information (less/more variation of poll results), cognitive capacity ((no/an) eye blinking count task) as well as incentive (extra monetary rewards).

We run a pre-registered online survey experiment in the UK with 2500 respondens with a novel design. Using first a vote advice application but showing everyone the same issue overlap results, people had the same strategic scenario independent on their actual preferences.

Today I updated my R package glm.predict. It now supports VGAM::vglm() Models with family cumulative for ordinal models were the parallel regression assumption fails.

The developement version can be installed from GitHub with remotes::install_github("benjaminschlegel/glm.predict").

Please let me know if you get an unexpected error message.

I wrote my dissertation on strategic voting. I'm interested in political behaviour, Swiss politics, methods, programming and data driven journalism.

My biggest passion is teaching statistics/methods and programming.

I'm the author of two R packages on CRAN (brant and glm.predicts).

I work as a postdoctorand at the chair of political methods at @IPZ_ch at the university of Zurich.
