Dave NanianThinking this morning about Ryuichi Sakamoto, the livestream “Ryuichi Sakamoto: Playing the Piano 2022”, and the sad beauty of the music coming through his health struggles.
Which also took me back to the early 80s session videos for David Sylvain’s Brilliant Trees, where, starting at 3:50 or so, you’ll see David and Ryuichi working through a track, and how much he brings to it.
