Love new tech and trying to keep up with the latest stuff.
Sitting here and thinking if i want to host my own instance of Mastodon, or rather let someone else host it for me. Anyone else that runs their own "Masto" instance, or know a hosting company that handles everything, so one doesn't need to think about the servers? Perhaps you are running it on a VPS?

Okay, so Microsoft is killing the Control Panel.

Guess "GodMode" may come handy then afterall.

Create a folder on your desktop and rename it to: "GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}" (without the quotation marks ofc.)

Microsoft says its killing Windows Control Panel - here's why I'm not holding my breath

Finally, the 40-year-old tool will be deprecated in favor of the Settings app? Raise your hand if you still use Control Panel.

Perhaps they need to change name to "GitRevert" lol.

Who is pushing this kind of changes out in production. Wait, ofc Microsoft does all the time lol 😂

Google is about to lose market share in the browser market. Let's scrap Chromium and move on to something that is privacy friendly. I've already switched to Firefox, and will never go back. But if you want to stay with Chromium, just pick Brave Browser, since they will continue to support Manifest V2.

Google is just toxic when it comes to privacy.

I've got hundreds of books on my Kindle Paperwhite, but first now when i am searching for a horror book, i realize that there isn't any way of sorting the books by their genres. This is a feature Amazon certainly should have thought about when making the search functions for the devices.

And just like that, i no longer trust using any tools from OpenAI.

If they may or may not make a tool for checking if their AI has made any text i just can't trust them not making my own content available for others to compare with.
Lets say i'm using ChatGPT to just change some part of my source code for a large project, and suddenly someone else uses this tool to compare their own source code against mine without knowing that i wrote it in the first place.
Bye ChatGPT! https://openai.com/index/understanding-the-source-of-what-we-see-and-hear-online/

macOS must be the biggest cr%p i've ever used. First it wont let me even type in any utf8 chars in the wifi-password, and even if i force it in via terminal networksetup, it won't connect. Then after changing the password of the wifi network, it turned out that macOS is limited to how f$%ing long a wifi-password can be. I've never ever experienced this with any other operating system. This sh$t is going back to Apple ASAP.

I'm so glad i also had my trust ThinkPad with me!

I really hate big tech companies charging way too much for their software.

Luckilly many tools are so simple to make, that i rather code them myself, than giving away my money. (If not already made under GPL ofc.)

Feels like the users are the big losers when it comes to software usage.

Everyone should learn to code!

A little ironic that the name of the company is #CrowdStrike and suddenly, crowds of businesses are having problems with their computer due to an update gone wrong.

Well who pushes updates so close to a weekend? It's like asking for extra work.

Hope the affected companies gets this fixed as soon as they can.
