"Hello, this is Sparklight Enterprise Business support, how may I help you?"
"Yes, I'd like to have the reverse DNS PTR records changed for 3 of the IP addresses I pay for."
"Reverse DNS? What's that? I've never been asked this question before and I've worked here for years!"
"I did call BUSINESS support, correct? Perhaps you can forward me to whomever handles your DNS records."
On the plus side, after being on hold for 20 minutes, he informed me that he now knows what A and PTR records are.
I'm not sure whether to congratulate him or tell him to run ...
As I slowly relocated some of my office today, I repurposed an unused 55" TV for amateur radio use. Who knew it would also be pretty rad aesthetically?
OpenBSD running a custom sunclock build, to with a few conky panels and unclutter to remove the mouse. Kind of fun!
I got a dollar donation today!
PayPal took 57% of it.
What the actual fuck? Guess I better read the fine print.
Direct eye contact in that photo.
This is my new scuba "under-coat." (Don't ask, I layer with merino wool thermals, mid liners, and outer coat, because undergarments are expensive and stupid and when it's summer time, that's important for cooling, when the undergarment folks are cooking, and in the winter when they can't regulate heat)
I find it fascinating that it's only been on two dives, 7000ft altitude, 80ft max depth, at around 2hrs bottom time, and it already has that effervescence of latex neck seal and drysuit.
Ah, the smell of #scuba. Next week's dive will be a low of 14f on the surface.
We'll see how my new layering works.
