We might not have frozen kizza in the store, but we have a lot of fancy accessories and clocks 😍

QR code scanners at the station in Brussels Airport have been the worst ones I've seen in a while. Everyone taking 20+ seconds to placate the machine on distance/placement (or is it just slow?)

That Maduro has been renditioned and is now charged in US court makes the ICC sanctions kinda hypocritical.

I'm really rooting for the digital euro project now, even though "I'm worried about implementation by committee or endlessly outsourced decentralization.

e.g. https://www.irishtimes.com/world/us/2025/12/12/its-surreal-us-sanctions-lock-international-criminal-court-judge-out-of-daily-life/ really makes one think, how would I live without payment cards. Locally, you might get away by cash, but good luck with buying stuff on the internet or traveling abroad.

It took me a while to find it again but this post covers a LOT of the misconceptions people have about payment processing
Payment Processor Fun 2025 -- Making Your Own MSP

discussion of burnout in open source communities is kind of odd. you're telling me that a group of people, who after finishing a day at their big tech company day job, go home and work a second unpaid tech job for "fun", often 7 days a week, might be more likely to have an unhealthy relationship with work? tickle me surprised

Enshittification is not the result of your failure to grasp that "if you're not paying for the product, you're the product." You're the product if you pay. You're the product if you don't pay. The determinant of your demotion to "the product" is *whether the company can get away with treating you as the product*.

Cat's out of the bag:
FEX, an emulator I've been working on these past 4 years, is going to be part of the Steam Frame to bring x86 Windows games to an ARM Linux VR headset! 😊

Really happy to have been part of the journey and of the team that got FEX to where it is today. Can't wait for the release and community reception!
