@ariadne Not only X but Y

Students or anyone who is the need for a free Linux Laptop?

We as Laptop Revive can provide one free of charge, no background checks. Just a friendly face and some basic agreements on paper and then we hand it over somewhere in the Netherlands.

Sounds like a miracle? No fact is that we already handed out more than 100 of them ! πŸ™‚πŸ‘

See https://laptoprevive.nl for the details

@jvnknvlgl @jorge What the article doesn't mention is that currently Flatpak requires hosting an index of available packages outside the OCI registry, which is something I disagree with as Flathub's infrastructure engineer.

The rest are hallway track discussions on Matrix and elsewhere.

The future of Flatpak

At the Linux Application Summit (LAS) in April, Sebastian Wick said that, by many metrics, Flat [...]

@beasts, the unsung Flathub heroes
Someone thought it's a clever idea to register Flathub organization on Codeberg without telling us, so that sure doesn't help with figuring out if we should migrate there in the first place.

Non-exhaustive list of what we're missing from Forgejo to Make Things Happen One Day:

- webhooks events emitted on pipeline status changes: https://codeberg.org/forgejo/forgejo/pulls/9803
- an endpoint to dynamically register new runners: https://code.forgejo.org/forgejo/forgejo-actions-feature-requests/issues/78
- be able to schedule specific jobs on specific runners: https://code.forgejo.org/forgejo/forgejo-actions-feature-requests/issues/76
- a way to unregister runners: https://code.forgejo.org/forgejo/runner/issues/182

(confusingly, some of these seem implemented in the dev releases but not closed)

And then a dozen of duct tapes to actually Do The Thing, either proxying to runs-on.com or replacing it altogether.

Technically, we could switch to Forgejo for DVCS and issue tracking right away, but we would still be using GitHub for CI.

feat: add webhook triggers for actions pipeline status changes (e.g., waiting, in-progress)

@Foxboron You didn't set up an automatic failover to USB modem with mwan3? Amateur!
Like clockwork, the moment I leave for vacation, Flathub explodes twice. This would have been funny if it weren’t the third February in a row.
Revolt on #flathub lol
