Wait, a pfsense machine, GIF tunnel for IP6, three subnets for ip4/6 (one v6 contained in a tagged vlan), a few other internal vlans, and a want (need?) to run Suricata... that's considered complicated?

Guess it's a good thing that I didn't mention the three managed switches, eh?

Just #homelab things I guess 😜

What a PITA, but my self hosted mastodon node using cloudflared (whee, didn't have to open Yet Another Port(tm) on the firewall!) and the containers appear to be working with user name resolution by base domain name (vs having the machine name/'subdomain' in the @ bit). Test toots sent both ways as well.

Can't say I'm a huge fan of not having the DNS control local, but it is what it is.

Now to let it sit for a bit to watch the logs and see if I missed anything before I do the move.

#homelab

Self hosted mastodon, security onion, migration of the HE tunnel to the new pfsense install, get the new camera and bath fan installed, research/design the eps32 device to kick the google home and echos to the kerb, start the prints for the 3d printer upgrades, and that's just off the top of my head.

So many projects, not enough hours in the day.

I knew not to expect the same level of quality from clone hakko devices, fg-100 in this case, but holy hell, this is a new level of poor. Sensors that don't fit right, missing bits, blurry display due to the matte LCD cover...

I know, it also did not cost 250+ USD for it, but still, just damn.

EDIT: Annnnd never mind, it's stuck on 1c. Totes defective. Return already set up, just need to drop it off.

Anyone have a suggestion on a decent one that isn't crazy expensive?

Go home amazon search results, yer drunk

Poking around with the latest firefox builds.

Don't misunderstand me, I get that devs gotta eat as well, but the default options, so many 'sponsored' things turned on by default, sheesh.

At least they are able to be turned off, but dayum...

Hmm... raspberry pi pico or an esp32, either one with wifi, and one of those cheap usb 'voice conference' speaker/mico units from spamazon... potential amazon echo equivalent for home assistant? 🤔
Oh hey, I see some more of ma peeps on this farting elephant thing! Awesome! 😆

It may just be me, but it seems like many upgrades for 3d printers are designed for specific popular existing models (say, direct drive extruders), and not a 'generic' device with an STL to help model a new X carriage (most of the upgrades I've seen are extruders or sensors).

To me, not having these models kind of goes against the original spirit of a 3d printer, a device that is able to print new and/or better parts for itself.

Side effects of being a niche product perhaps?

@RoboPack saw this one and was reminded of your visits to PAX (before the boot)😜
