@morgthorak I think you might want to make sure you don’t follow me.

Because your “woke communist propaganda” comment makes me think you’re a moron of the first order.

I strongly suspect I am one of those “woke communists” you worry about. But you probably couldn’t actually explain what either of those words actually mean, could you?

I’m a card-carrying atheist, I think a woman’s right to choose is very important, I think that “well regulated militia” means that guns should be carefully licensed and not just randomly given to any moron with a pulse, and I couldn’t care less if you decided to dress up in the “wrong” clothes or decided you’d rather live your life without feeling tied to whatever plumbing you were born with.

And dammit, if that all makes me “woke”, then I think anybody who uses that word as a pejorative is a f*cking disgrace to the human race. So please just unfollow me right now.

One swim at Bethells before I head back to London. Blow the cobwebs out.
What a wreath
Listened to a twitter space last night where Musk was shitting all over the twitter stack and saying the only way forward was a complete rewrite. It is such a familiar "trope" from the new guy joining a company who doesn't understand why any of the complexity even exists yet. Anyway. Good luck with that top to bottom rewrite. I'm sure it will be productive.
5 years since I've been able to spend a Christmas in NZ. The trees have grown. It feels even more peaceful and serene here
@tartley also, Tumblr is back! That was always fun for cool art. Admiring aesthetics is nice
@tartley I do want to think more... carefully about what I want to get out of social media in the new year. Chatting to people about things that are actually interesting rather than owning strangers on twitter is probably better for me
@tartley you too buddy! I'm trying to wean myself off the spectacle of twitter.
These graphs help me understand the time we just lived through https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/excess-mortality-in-england-and-english-regions the continued long tail shows how nasty this thing still is
Excess mortality in England and English regions

Monitoring excess mortality provides understanding of the impact of coronavirus (COVID-19) during the course of the pandemic and beyond.

@qjurecic also the people planning mass shootings. The terrorists who are taking guns to churches, gay bars, mosques etc DO use social media and do talk about it before hand.
