All the talk about layoffs and visas. I fully agree. Laying off folks on visas is especially horrible.

Can we also talk more about the visas themselves? Why can't work visas come with more generous protections for people who are laid off through no fault of their own?

It’s incredibly rare to see a company willing hire bootcamp devs. UK mobile provider giffgaff is taking this a step further: offering to train motivated people via a bootcamp, and then hire some and invest in them.

This approach is rare, as it’s a huge time investment.
