To sum things up, I'm a bit of a nerd. Bunch of hobbies and interests... photography, painting, fishkeeping, dabble with computers, support right to repair and open source.

I'm rather disappointed that Facebook didn't change its name to Toxic Cesspool.

@samgai @annika I can get onboard about the patio heaters. It's like saying, I want to go outdoors but I don't want to be outdoors because it is cold (or hot) outside while a campfire is part of the experience outdoors and you can at least cook over a campfire.
@annika Assuming that is personal as an American I would be pissed. I sure hope that crap doesn't make its way over here. Some banks do charge fees if you don't maintain a minimum balance or overdraw your account, or if it is a business account. The only time you might see ATM fees here is if you use an ATM that doesn't belong to your bank and it is like $3-5. Just seems crazy.

@mintyfresh It is a shame and at the same time I see the appeal for doing short term. Less likely to have your rental property damaged by tenants and obviously you can make way more money. I do think regulation is the only way to level the playing field though. I mean in this area where there's few decent jobs there's not really anything good to rent. Either it's a single wide trailer with rotting floors or places you can't afford.
@mintyfresh I kind of wonder what middle class actually is anymore. But no, even if I could get a home loan that would be way too expensive. One thing I see around here, which is a rural area in the mountains, is that people from Florida will buy up homes, cabins and do short term rentals which has caused a housing shortage in the area. I mean I get why people would rather do short term rentals than leasing it long term but overall it creates a shitty situation that causes people to leave.
I really hate having to drive in dense fog every morning (it's also still dark here for another hour). Plus the road is being widened and the orange barrels are way too reflective, hope there aren't any deer lurking about like last year.
