Y'all make me happy, let's stay inclusive and energetic about what's exciting in the daily bits we all do. Or just commiserate a bit about specific ways that things could be better, I'm down for either.

My son (pictured) is George, a half-husky baby with just a touch of anxiety. He's a very good boy, and yes his fur exists everywhere around me like oxygen.

Anywho, I'm just a few years into this devops shindig, but would love little more than to switch into infosec. Always happy to learn about a new system, especially if it scales beautifully and/or deploys securely by design.

My HobbiesLiterally any music, please hit me with your obscure genres and tell me why you enjoy them. Also play a lot of random lil games on PC, some bigger games too on occasion. Lover of gadgets and simple things that can improve daily life.
My jobTrying to run k8s without crying at the top of every hour. Also making the rich in the ad industry richer
Pet peevesStrong opinions strongly held without evidence, and ad hominem attacks
Favorite thingsWarm waffles or pancakes, cuddles with a blanket and/or my boyfriend, and intentionally net positive conversations with good friends and/or other well-meaning people.

One of the things that I think is sad about the decimation of Twitter eng is that Twitter was doing a lot of interesting (and high ROI) eng work that, at younger companies, is mostly outsourced at great cost.

A few examples off the top of my head:

The now gutted HWENG group was so good at server design that, in a meeting with Intel, the Intel folks couldn't believe the power envelope Twitter achieved and Google thought we were lying about our costs during cloud price negotiations.

One thing that's getting a little lost in this mix, is that some of the people desperately holding on at Twitter are because they are trapped by either healthcare or visas.

That there are systemic traps that trap workers in America so they feel unable to move freely to new employers who want them and would have better pay or conditions is *nuts* and deserves a lot more attention than it gets.

People running GoFundMes for medical bills should be first in line when it comes time to divvy up Elon's fortune.
