Awesome seeing all the Dendrigrafts that have been minted so far! Some of the rarer traits have yet to be uncovered.
Dendrigrafts closes today 15:00 UTC
Dendrigrafts is a testament to the impermanence of human creations. This work is the latest in a series of generative artworks by AutoEclectus that explores the use of a custom tree-growth algorithm to create organic, tree-like structures and emergent patterns. Each Dendrigraft beings with a host shape, upon which a network of tree nodes is grafted. These nodes have the capacity to grow and expand within carefully curated constraints, giving rise to branching patterns that mimic organic structures. Just as the grand temples of Angkor Wat have been slowly swallowed by the jungle, the human-made shapes in these creations are being steadily consumed by the tendrils of the natural world. This invites us to reflect on the fragility of our own creations, and the inevitability of their eventual decline. Dendrigraphs encourages us to embrace the beauty in this cycle of growth and decay. We can find solace in the knowledge that even our most ambitious works will one day return to the earth from which they came. This serves as a humbling reminder of our place in the grand scheme of things. Press “S” to save a PNG image. Created using Javascript and SVG. There may be slight differences in rendering from browser to browser. This is expected as they might translate the SVG slightly differently. Best to use Chromium based browsers (Chrome, Edge, Brave, etc.). Libraries used: svg-js, d3-quadtree, chroma-js, wtc-math. © AutoEclectus 2024
