@b0rnwithabeard the other tip is cut down to working a 4 day week, which isn't always an option for everyone. It is however extremely effective. People think about your time more and it doesn't become an expectation that you will be there anytime to sort stuff out, which triggers better planning and communication. Also when you are there people understand that you are most likely doing 5 days of work in those 4 days and are more sympathetic to how busy you might be.
