Hello, dear Mastodon followers! I am about to express an opinion, and am curious to hear any well-cited and/or thoughtful replies. Here it comes, the opinion... wincing at vocal fry is a dumb thing, and probably just a fashionable way of belittling women. I say this as someone who used to ride the "vocal fry is bad" train. Lately, I have been exploring this register of my own voice in a pursuit to improve my singing, and I must say it has helped immensely. It's also a lot of fun to make rumbly demon sounds!
