i'm currently reading 'a psalm for the wild-built' by becky chambers. it was sold to me as "cozy scifi" and they were 100% right. it took a minute for my brain to get used to the protagonist having they/them pronouns because i've never read a book that used those pronouns before but it didn't take long at all. the world building is wonderful so far and beautifully balanced. it never once felt lore-dumpy or boring. i'm def excited to read the rest

I realized I hadn't talked about my #ffxiv character here, so here's my girl Yrja Bunansa, a half-Viera, half-Garlean reluctant sky pirate who travels the world with her twin, Yrys.

I've played her for almost 3 years now and she's gone through so much changes. Even now I still struggle to get her down personality-wise but these have been her constants: she's not much of a talker, "still waters run deep", and she's fiercely loyal to her twin and family.

I'm making an effort to post more about her, partly because I want to flesh her out more and mostly because I'm trying to get over my fear of sharing my ocs.

i'm michelle (she/her) but i also go by my online handle, yrja. i spend the majority of my time reading books, drinking coffee, and playing video games.

my main videogame fandoms include: #ff14 #finalfantasy #persona #fireemblem #thewitcher #dragonage and #masseffect.

my favorite genres of books include: historical romance, gothic, fantasy, and a touch of scifi. i'm also a huge fan of comics and manga, most notably #monstress #saga #thesandman #fruitsbasket #cardcaptorsakura and #ancientmagusbride.
