AbeniI sat at a landscape design conference this week where I heard land acknowledgments and so many references to how settler colonialism disrupted the land stewardship Native people did here for millennia. It completely altered our plant communities and the overall terrain on this continent.

Not one Indigenous speaker was on the lineup. White speakers suggested resources written by other white authors about Native land management techniques.
