@whatcraic, yes, you have a point. On the other hand, even a small-ish dent on a big corporation's profits may be sufficient to scare shareholders and, I'd like to believe, make them rethink their strategies. The problem is that most people seem to not be willing to sacrifice the tiniest of conveniences and then start creating excuses to tell themselves and everyone else that it's ok to keep using what they are already using.
address. I guess I'll only use my main account for things actually related to friends and work. I guess only real people with whom I have a relation have this address. All the other things go to the junk email, then you see why I think there's too much info about me on my junk account.

>> I guess my point is that simply moving to ProtonMail for you personal/work stuff and keeping a gmail account for junk mail may not achieve much in terms of not giving away your info to google. And the worst part is that then you’d have to pay for a lot of space to store all your junk mail so that you can have access one day if needed.

Think about it: in the same way that searches reveal a lot about your interests, various invoices, sites where you created an account, b&m stores where you’ve given your email when making a purchase, all of that info can be a gold mine for a company that wants to know as much about you as possible. >>
