had a ridiculous moment last night where 4 freshmen and I simultaneously found out that everyone knew who Billy Harrington was and shared a communal moment of silence
I have a freshman that picked a name for college. He picked. 'Exia'. From Gundam. LEGEND.
been privileged to have been part of a lot of really really cool communities over the years but most of 'em are different or gone.
dropped phrase: *I hadn't felt like I was part of a place that cared about its cohesion as a living breathing community and making a positive difference (for a long time) before landing on this place
man I just can't believe cybre is going away. (to be perfectly perfectly clear this is not meant to be a complaint @ chr or anyone just trying to express my weird internet community emotions). almost 5 years on this site!!! I hadn't felt like I was part of a place that cared about its cohesion as a living breathing community and making a positive difference before landing on this place. like, I seriously learned so much by interacting with people through here, and on our federated instances, and made so many friends. it has been so so much fun. not sure what to say. just reminds you that the internet is an impermanent place, and to always always appreciate what good we do have.
I’m going to miss cybre so much. This place has been my home online since high school and has done so much good for me and others. Thank you chr for fighting the good fight and maintaining this place for so long. I’ll see you all around soon.
is cybre.space the biggest instance so far that's been shut down?

can't believe cybrespace is over tbh

this was my first instance and it's always been my main up until now. i'm going to miss this place a lot

thanks to @chr for keeping it going for these years

REST IN PEACE
