With the bird site APIs about to go behind a paywall, I’m checking the apps linked to my account there and there are a couple of blasts from the past!

Lanyrd and Gimme Bar were both great in their day. Not entirely sure why I ever needed to connect Amazon though...

In the interests of getting something published here after another multi-month absence, here’s a simple detail from a scouting trip in Northumberland back in 2017.I’ve previous...

In case you missed it, Mammoth is back in beta with a bang! Here's your chance to join the TestFlight before slots run out:

Using TestFlight is a great way to help developers test beta versions of their apps.

Please stop using “mom” as an example of an unsophisticated user of technology. This reinforces harmful stereotypes.

Instead, I suggest using “congressperson”.

@pie Hope the move all goes as smoothly as possible for you Zach!
@bigzaphod Yeah, it’s a tough one. Everything through the Apple TV will be great, it’s just other devices that can be frustrating as Apple ties the HomePods so closely into their own system. To be fair, I’ve never made the time to fully investigate the problem with mine and I don’t know how common a problem it is, so you could be totally fine!
@bigzaphod I’ve been really impressed with the paired original HomePods we have for sound quality. Everything we watch goes through Apple TV so largely fine, though I’m yet to get the pass-through working anywhere near consistently for my Xbox audio. If you have other connected devices besides an Apple TV, might be worth trying just one first, to test eARC works with your TV.

@Amy_Hupe I did some coaching with Julia Whitney last year, who was great and I’m sure would be able to help on this.

@simon I thought about this with @adactio‘s post too. I’ve only encountered once but it was a surprisingly nice interaction: paying for car parking, allowed me to pay rapidly rather than wait to download the app and create an account first.

They could have done the same with a web page of course, but it did end up feeling pretty smooth.

I missed out on the @ivory beta but still an easy purchase sight-unseen now that it’s released based on the fantastic track record with Tweetbot. Can already see it’s money we’ll spent.
