Measuring exposure times of film cameras, quick and dirty. Constantly-on LED pointed at a phototransistor with a pull-up resistor, hooked up directly to an oscilloscope.

Tested the setup with Canon EOS 500 as a known-good camera, it can measure down to 1/1000 s, 1/2000 is usable but cutting it way too close.

Really beaten-up Chinon CE-4 turned out to be spot-on, Praktica BX-20 was a bit under 50% too slow at 1/1000, and my favorite BC1 was like 1/250 when set to 1/1000.

Yesterday I learned that Praktica BCX is basically same as B200 but for export to UK and silver.

I was after a Praktica B motor winder for some time and I just got a superficially non-film-tested 15 GBP Praktica BCX with a broken B winder. Plan was to try to sell the camera and try to fix and keep the winder.
