@marcelias Im curious what "form" the arguments need to be in, or rather what legality they need to appeal to, in order to "land" in court

In summary, if you think the world is going to change for the better - for everyone, including the people far away we want to "help" - it aint gonna happen without the onshoring of whole lot more weariness, pollution, compromise, desperation and dread.

For 75% of our needs we can coast for a decade on all the junk we have atm - for the rest just slow tf down
Our expectations about life and happiness are built on the backs of people who would be happy to have running water.
Meanwhile we will fight till the end to maintain our luxuries, no matter uneccesary they are, and anything preventing access becomes "the problem" - even each other.
As economic pressure mounts in the west & the avg person begins to feel stress long common to the global south, I worry we will double down on the primacy of luxury rather than re-examine our priorities

Everyone is wonderful, and we all deserve a chance to shine, relax, or just drink at a bar. Plenty of the those folks are honest, loyal friends who help
But we export these (mainly sheltered white male middle class) fantasies and fail spectacularly to see how abrasive they are to the people and places used as interchangable set pieces in them
you cant put a price on happiness..

Margaritaville is the anthem of doe-eyed american entitlement, wasteful hubris, shallow self-reflection and lame, no-rhythm-having expat barfly binge drinking self-pity
