Finally they grabbed last week's leaves! But they pushed a bunch back up into my yard in the process. I'll deal with those and the other half of my neighbor's yard if/when it ever stops raining.
The guy on the other side would do that half along with his yard, but he passed away a few years ago. I've never asked if she's noticed her leaves magically vanish each year.
I put this out. A week or so later neighborhood yards sprouted multiple little Trump signs. I guess it got noticed.

So irritating. The NYT and its media pals are once again attempting to impose their will on the Democratic party. They try to grab the wheel with every presidential election, and they invariably yank it in the wrong direction. The previous round was only a few years ago. Folks really do have short memories.
I've been trying out a darning loom lately for my socks, and so far I'm not satisfied with the results. I mean, sure, they're perfectly functional repairs, but they could look nicer (even though I'm the only one who'll ever see them). So I started eyeing the old, holey wool blanket. It has plenty of holes to practice on.
My sister is at Wawa, and I am not. /sad
(My station wagon is a manual transmission.)
I put some tip-outs under the sink. It should have taken a few hours; it took 3 days.
A big chunk of the back turned out to be gone. I had to fill it with scrap. Then I had to wrestle the hinges into place and rout finger grips, which had to be stained.
Next I'll be shutting off the house water to replace the bathroom faucet (it doesn't have individual shutoffs). Can't wait to find out what will go wrong.

Yesterday was Take Your Child to Work Day at the White House.

As of this morning, fiber optic internet. They used a small(ish) robot trencher to cut into my side yard to bury it (~1 ft down). There's an outside box and two inside boxes in the basement. I had to give up my Netgear router (and all its meticulous settings) and my ethernet hub; now the patch box is plugged directly into their router, as is the VOIP box. (The local area code has inexplicable significance here, hence landline.) Other than that, relatively painless?
Fan began to act up again this morning, but I was ready for it. I already had a (used) replacement on hand. It took about 20 minutes, most of which was spent cleaning off the old thermal paste.
(The notes scrawled on the underside of the one I took out seemed to indicate it also had been a replacement. Hmm.)
