Can you tell me its not dumb to spend $100 to fix up a IBM laptop from 2005? I've experimented on my current machine, and I have got youtube videos to play below 512mb ram with w3m+mpv on Lubuntu, but would the centrino combination be a bottleneck I am not taking into account with trying to watch Lunduke videos on youtube?

Think I could refurbish a IBM Thinkpad T42 to be a Linux daily driver? It can only hold 2GB Ram and is 32bit, and says Intel centrino, but unsure past that. Will I have to run like some weird Arch install? Is it worth it if its going to cost me like 80$ after motherboard/keyboard/battery? On the plus side no Minix, bigger screen than my air(current machine) and the keys arnt chicklets, well the ones not missing, and I believe Linux(the kernel)can handle all the drivers natively

why are you using a telephone cord to connect your keyboard?

No one thinks that theres going to be a singularity and we will get wiped out by austrian robots, at least not any time soon, right the biggest problem with current A.I. is that it serves the people who created it and not humanity as a whole, which gives too small a group too much power, and as AI advances you have to watch out what you tell it to do, cause it will do it in ways you didnt imagine. like a genie! computerphile has a good episode on this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tcdVC4e6EV4
