@mrysav I mean to be fair:
1. When you can't reliably go into a shop to buy a computer with your distro on it, the installer is *how* people do get the distro at all.
2. One of the biggest complaints of people switching to Linux is the installers not walking them through things enough.
3. Sometimes when upgrading from a major release to a new major release, the best way, and sometimes the recommended way to upgrade is a fresh install.
Then I get why they put this work in.
@governorkeagan the Linux command line is a fantastic book! Its also free as a PDF download, or in HTML on their website.
Its my go-to recommendation for anyone learning Linux.
@snake nixos is my preferred nowadays, not beginner friendly without a programming/development background, or an intense desire to be a hipster.
Otherwise Mint, or something Arch based, but in a beginner friendly flavor.
@73CC I recommend Piper for mouse configuration, works well with my g204, all lighting and button controls I need.
