Apparently I can't have my cake and eat it too

(Related to trying to solve my `ReferenceFileDocument` issues)

Despite Xcode's poor error rendering, I'm calling this a success. Can't even *build* this test any more.  

(I had some panic because I wasn't seeing an error, but it turned out to be Xcode’s ye olde “I'm not going to show you errors right now”)
