Figuring this thing out
"Any social media platform that dips under 10% poster will fail, but as the early days of Bluesky demonstrated, if you over index on posters, you will have endless fucking chaos. It is possible that posters are deeply unwell. Certainly they are far too online." https://www.theverge.com/24058356/trolls-social-media-commenter-lurker-reply-guy-threads
Toward a unified taxonomy of text-based social media use

@verge @royalputhy Yeah 100% agree
@molly0xfff @EFreethought Yeah that’s what I thought. That’s a “the shareholders are pissed off” statement. Pissed off that an approach had been made to SA and not been relayed to them, the reps of the shareholders.
@Neverfadingwood Entirely correct. I’ve never understood the “GPT can generate copy” thing. If you’re employing a tool to write words like that, those words didn’t need to be written at all.
@Chronotope @thorgal So yeah a slow reading app sounds interesting - welcome to this place Thor!
@hammoncr Yes I agree. For the first time since about 2009, I think Google’s position in search could actually be assailable. It is literally unusable for brand new search topics.
@gerrybot Definitely guidebooks - yes really - and websites (especially ‘official’ city visit sites) and indy blogger websites but never video sites. That’d spoil it for me I think.
