I know this has been thought of many times before, but all websites should really provide a “My cat booped my hand and now I don’t know where I am” back-out option.
In the last five years, we've gone from "employees will never have to go into an office" to "employees need to be in the office because creative and innovative work can only be done face-to-face between humans" to "lol we don't need humans"

(4) I proposed to him at 37.

(5) Married him at 38.

(6) I delivered Baby 1 at 39.

(7) I delivered Baby 2 at 41.

(8) I bought a house using only my name on the mortgage at 42.

And I am more feminist, more self-possessed, and more stoic than ever before.

Just because you’re over 35 or married or have kids doesn’t make you a conservative.

Get your money straight. Keep your head up. You’re worth love. Keep moving; never quit.

Lady friends, a PSA:

Wanting marriage and children does not make you a conservative.

(1) I left my 4 year relationship at 35 because I’d rather be alone than unhappy. (Ty Whitney!)

(2) I still wanted marriage and babies but knew it might not happen.

(3) I gave myself a year off from dating, went to therapy, and starting dating again.

And in another installment of my lifelong series, entitled “Self Service Culture is a Scam”, I just booked a room in Columbus OH through Amex travel that showed as sold out on the web.

And I booked it while remaining on hold while someone else did the leg work, and I washed a dirty diaper, cuddled my child, and sorted out old clothes. Now that’s a good use of time!

I think the worst part about classes built on pre-recorded video is that they’re completely passive. You just sit and listen; you can’t underline or move your lips while you read, and you can raise your hand an interrupt while the professor is talking.

Learning is not passive. Not even memorization, arguably the lowest level of learning, is passive.

Just give me the vid transcripts so I can read the course information about 90x faster than the vid runs. Also the acting and production are uniformly awful in all courses. Why can’t course producers hire actual film people to produce these things?
Omg how do people learn from video courses?! They’re so slow and full of shit you already know and then there’s one point you need and if you miss it you have to scroll back and forth and back and forth until you find it like it’s a 1988 cassette player.
My fav thing about data scientists is that they’re all like “what we do is so precise! It’s math! Our conclusions are verifiable!” And then the first thing they tell when you ask about their data is how they have to make several subjective decisions about how to simplify the data so they can use it.

Why do you think Europeans pearl clutch about how violent the U.S. is? After all, this is the continent that currently has a massive conflict raging upon it, had religiously fueled bombings on a northern island and open, full-scale genocide in its south eastern flank as recently as the 1990s, and hosted a fascist dictatorship on its major peninsula until the 1970s.

Im not saying the US is at all nonviolent, and we are far from perfect. But the idea of Europe as tranquil and civilized? Please.
