had some really complicated family of origin feelings (missing them, being disconnected from roots) while grieving other past holiday trauma (posted on alt). made a poppyseed walnut coffee cake as a salve to this saudade. got a very upsetting text from my mother while i was getting it ready to bake. can't live my life without feeling judged right now. at least the coffee cake is good.
