Spotted on a walk 🦝

I flew up to my old place, packed everything up, and immediately left in my truck on a 2-day journey to Vegas. An unexpected road closure turned yesterday’s 9-hour drive into a 12-hour one which seriously wore me out, but there were some beautiful views.

I did not expect the 7800 ft. elevation summit nor the three major snow storms. Fun fact: cruise control stops working when your grille is covered in ice. 🥶

I’m officially a Nevadan! Got my keys today, lots of work ahead… priority #1 is to not be sleeping on an air mattress tomorrow night. But I’m here and I’m excited!!
I returned home to Palm Springs today landing amidst clouds, wind and rainfall. I think it’s the first time I’ve flown into bad weather here and it was so beautiful!
I’m wrapping up a whirlwind trip up to Seattle to pick up the truck I ordered all the way back in early January when I thought I’d be settling into a house up here this Spring. Now I’m packing boxes and planning my next steps elsewhere instead. I’m feeling lots of emotions but I’m also so excited for the adventure ahead.
Nothin’ like a bit of early morning elevation to clear the head. 🌄

This week was a tough one, but on a positive note: I’ve mostly finished adapting my app to use RTL languages and it’s been a really interesting and satisfying project.

A few people I’ve mentioned this to have reacted with some form of “why would you add support for Arabic?” which seems obvious to me: there’s a ton of people out there who use Arabic and yes, some of them read sheet music and have iPads. Some folks have very sheltered ideas of what life is like elsewhere.

Pro tip: when you have to do lots of thinky work put on your smart person glasses, it helps
It’s so nice to be home. (Generally, I mean. That’s not my house.)
Kauai may be a sleepy island but wow, it’s full of natural beauty and gorgeous sights.
