Not one of the 33 companies participating in a big trial of a 4-day workweek (with no loss in pay) is returning to a standard 5-day schedule. Productivity went up. Revenue went up. Absenteeism and turnover both went down.

"The benefits are significant."

In this cultural moment, a lot of women are redefining their relationship with work. Living through a global pandemic has prompted many to clarify their values & priorities, what they are & aren’t willing to tolerate, & what they want to do with their “one precious life” (hat tip, Mary Oliver). If this resonates, I wrote this for you: https://amanda-hirsch.medium.com/dear-women-leaders-who-cant-quite-face-the-change-they-know-it-s-time-to-make-657d25eee9c
Dear women leaders who can’t quite face the change they know it’s time to make

If you only use your social media accounts to repost awful news articles about awful people doing awful things, you're missing out on a great opportunity here to finally be happy and there's probably a good chance you're shouting into the void because you've been blocked/muted.

You have the chance to be happy on a social network for once, don't let the bad things in the world ruin it for you.

Talk, interact, socialize... you don't need to be a bot for the news corporations.

A friend just left me a voicemail (we old) filled with rage about a series of health issues she’s having related to her former pregnancies, and how hard it is to find care and resources. And then she said, “And this is something new for me, but I’m asking myself what I can do about it. Because this is bullshit.” YES. We shouldn’t have to fix patriarchy’s insidious effects on our health and everything else — but if we don’t, who will? In our agency lies a revolution.

Hi! I’m Amanda. I’m on a mission to create a world that’s worthy of my daughter; we have a long way to go. This distance inspired me to launch Mighty Forces, a company devoted to helping women leaders get loud — to share their authentic voices & experiences in bigger ways & in so doing, to reshape the world. I’m also a writer (a book, blogs, essays, TV scripts), improv actor, & yogi. I split my time between NYC & NY’s Hudson Valley. I’m married to @jordanhirsch. He’s cute.
Ok, I’m going to start spending at least 15 min a day here both reading and contributing in the hopes that — slowly but surely — it will start to feel like home. (I miss Twitter.)
Let’s do this.
