Happy anniversary to Ukraine!
Let’s repeat this truth, proven again this week (but this is only the nth iteration): the USA are not a trustworthy ally. Not because they only care about their own interests (all countries do) but because they have no word and aren’t stable or rational.
If anything, yesterday’s US strike (just like Russia’s disgusting attacks on Ukraine) signalled the rest of the world that the ONLY way of living in relative peace is to throw the Non Proliferation Treaty out the window (discretely).
There is nothing surprising about Trump attacking Iran. He never lost the opportunity to take an inept, unjust or evil decision. But let’s not forget that he consciously took the decision to abandon Ukraine to do so. This will never be forgiven. And don’t get me started about Gaza.
In my personal opinion, European countries should start ignoring ITAR when it suits them. Non European countries do it sneakily anyway and the USA have more to lose in the matter, especially with a purely transactional POTUS in place.
A small universal truth worth reminding people from time to time: short of actual genocide, the vast majority of immigrants never come back, regardless of country, policy or origin. If you don’t want them, you need to live in worse shit than their own country of origin.
Probably an unpopular take, but Palestinian Territories should be allowed to compete in the Eurovision and Israel should be suspended. I know, this post is an exercise in absolute futility. But that’s how you spread messages across.
