All remaining charges have been dropped against the "Broadview Six," who were indicted for felony conspiracy last year after a protest at an ICE facility in Illinois. The dismissal was with prejudice, meaning charges cannot be brought again, and was attributed to mishandling of grand jury proceedings, with Judge April Perry saying she had never seen anything worse than what she saw in the unredacted transcripts. Defense attorney Chris Parente says the behavior of the federal prosecutors should "shame every American," and that his clients, including former congressional candidate Kat Abughazaleh, plan to file a claim with the DOJ's new "anti-weaponization" fund.
