I'm gonna do something I'm not very good at, and get straight to the point: I could use some help. In fact, I could be sunk without it.

After four months of job searching, I've applied for almost 700 positions, with little to no response to show for it. I keep at it because giving up isn't an option. All it takes is one "yes," but so far it's eluded me.

I've been able to scrape by in survival mode, with no frills, dining out, unnecessary purchases, and so forth. Unfortunately, even that frugality has hit a breaking point. I am literally broke financially.

While many people my age consider retirement, I'm having to start over from what feels like square one. I have a strong work history and resume, but getting it in front of someone who can help has been a daunting task.

I'm asking folks to try to set aside what they might actually think of me, and to see me as an honest, hardworking person in dire need. It hurts to write this; it SUCKS to have to write it. But I urgently need help.

These are tough times for most of us, so please don't set yourself or your families back if you can't afford to help. If that's the case, I totally understand. But if you can help, I'm humbly requesting it. If it's beyond your means right now, please consider a repost or signal boost.
