SpaceX's highly paid lawyers responded to the hundreds of comments and oppositions submitted to the FCC in one letter, that basically shows they didn't actually read our petitions to deny. And now we astronomers and dark sky advocates who are volunteering our time have to do a shitload more work to respond to their non-response. By Friday.

Fuck you, SpaceX.

@moss also with you on being an L1 English speaker and read the verbs as infinitives. I want to say the Japanese interface uses primarily nouns/denominals (minus the 'suru')

I think for me the reading of the verbs as infinitive has to do with "I want [to use interface] to do [action]" and imperative has some weird relational implications to me, but also not surprised other L1 English speakers assume imperative/command.

Hi #fediverse. We need to talk about something.

While talking to a colleague about how I recently learned most people have never sat on a cow it came up that she has never sat on a horse. Like, not even once during childhood.

Another colleague admitted they also have never sat on a horse.

My hypothesis is that most people have at one point in their life sat on a horse.

@niji_limbo srsly. I can't recall a scorching late Feb/March. They had a few high 80s/low 90s days last week and the week before that iirc, so it's been building up to this. Does not bode well at all... slight upside is that if current forecast holds, temps will drop to about 80~85F by the weekend.

This is what I get to look forward to upon moving back… 😭

Today was a lovely, but also above average, 17C for the high…

Sakura are already starting to bloom here in Kyoto. Also spotted a grey heron today. Yesterday saw a mallard pair.
