a, figured out the keys to make the phone restart, got back into firmware update mode and lgup seems to be working correctly now. that's good. no brick after all
xda forums are hell
mildly pissed because i didn't do anything too far out of the ordinary so its a big case of 'what did i do that you didnt' while i google an error code that no one can describe what means
