@johnvoorhees
1. iPhone 16 Pro Max
2. 305 cycles
3. 94% battery health

With my 15 I experimented with the charge limit setting (80%) to see if that would help extend battery longevity but found very little improvement from the 14 so last year went back to no limit. The iOS 26 public beta seems to have different charge options so not sure exactly what it was set to all year (100%, optimized & clean both on)

@siracusa glad you resolved your problem. Listening to ATP right now and my Mac guess is that they tied this to the other service that only one user can have active on the Mac, Find My. I don’t have any Mac’s on the plan so have avoided the issue but I do see this with multiple users on the same Mac for other things.
@marcoarment Noticed that the NYT Daily podcast seems to have dropped all episodes off of Overcast. Have you noticed any change or is it just my feed. I know they talked about putting it all behind the paywall but seemed to have been leaving the most recent episodes public.

I'd mostly forgotten about the Swift Assist demo I got at WWDC last June. It was one of my first briefings, and the Swift Assist part was short. I wrote about it here: https://www.macstories.net/news/a-look-at-code-completion-and-swift-assist-coming-in-xcode-16/

It was a live demo by an Apple engineer who sent a request to Private Cloud Compute, returning code that could serve as a starting point for a simple app.

From @gruber's story today, it looks like there have been other demos, too, but Apple has said nothing publicly since WWDC24.

A Look at Code Completion and Swift Assist Coming in Xcode 16

Earlier today, I got the very first live demo of Swift Assist, one of the many developer tools introduced today by Apple. I also saw code completion in action. It was an impressive demo, and although the tools seem like magic and will undoubtedly be valuable to developers, they do have their limitations, which are

Laid S1: Stephanie Hsu & Zosia Mamet keep this one afloat. Solid comedy binge.

Not for the weak stomached. This season’s insight into the American political psyche was too prescient.

I didn’t have high hopes for this video game adaptation but the style and filmmaking elevated the material and found something really compelling to watch.

Watch Fallout - Season 1 | Prime Video

Based on one of the greatest video games of all time, Fallout is the story of haves and have-nots in a world in which there’s almost nothing left to have. 200 years after the apocalypse, the gentle denizens of luxury fallout shelters are forced to return to the incredibly complex, gleefully weird and highly violent universe waiting for them above.
