Endlich mal wieder ein langes Video von Tibees. Including: eine lange überfällige Übersetzung eines Weltklassikers, Erklärung des Worts "buttload" und ein Rant über Mathe-Esoterik.

Hi #fediverse. We need to talk about something.
While talking to a colleague about how I recently learned most people have never sat on a crow it came up that she has never been sat on by a cat. Like, not even once during childhood.
Another colleague admitted they also have never been sat on by a cat.
My hypothesis is that most people have at one point in their life sat on by a cat.
🐈🐈⬛🐱
Have you ever been sat on by a cat?
Please boost for scientific accuracy.

The preview updates live while typing, error messages are better, Typst is less idiosyncratic and 1980s...
LaTeX on the other hand has a gazillion of packages wich solve ever thing you can possibly think of.
Slides are also better with typst. My thoughts from last summer:

Is anyone using typst instead of #tex ? Is it any good?

Applying calculus to #numbertheory gives me flashbacks to innumerable talks which mentioned the Circle Method without defining it 🙃 I never did understand them at the time!

It's interesting to consider the relationship between the infinity studied in #mathematics and the infinity that may exist in the real world, though ultimately this article doesn't have any answers.
I bet few people have wondered though, "if space is infinite, what is its cardinality?"
New blog post “Did Ahmes find the best expansions for 2/n?”. I discuss the table of Egyptian fraction expansions of 2/n in the Rhind Mathematical Papyrus, and whether it contains mistakes. I bravely conclude that I am not sure.
