Nevada voters! Nearly 14k mail-in ballots have signature issues (mostly among young people who don't have an established way of signing their names yet). Answer your phones tonight! It may be election workers attempting to cure your ballot. If they can't reach you, your ballot gets thrown out. https://lasvegassun.com/news/2024/nov/05/nearly-14000-mail-ballots-in-nevada-have-signature/
For as much as I enjoy working as a SOC analyst, I can’t help but feel this isn’t the career for me.
The wife and I both voted by mail today for the first time. After the news of the ballot box devices, we decided to drop them off inside the post office. Process was easy and painless, though I wish I would’ve gotten a sticker still 😞
Decided to remove the majority of social media apps from my phone in order to make mh visiting of such sites much more intentional. Mastodon made the cut though, just because of how… calm things are here. It’s nice to just have a feed of things I actually find interesting and worth checking out.
I’m looking to get a mini PC (think NUC sized) to set up a small home lab environment- any hardware recommendations?

Been a long time since I’ve posted here - life has been busy! Work is getting interesting, with it looking likely that I’ll be able to move out of T1 soonish. I’m back in school now for programming/development and should have my degree by the end of 2024 and I’m already looking into summer internships.

Here’s hoping that things continue looking up!

Tonight is my last night shift (barring picking up holidays I guess), and the feeling of leaving it behind is bittersweet.

It's not only going to be a benefit to me in regards to my personal/family life, but I think being able to interact with the rest of the day time team is going to be a huge professional benefit as well.

I feel like having worked nights for the past few years has really stunted my professional growth. I wasn't able to attend the weekly team meetings, I missed out on some impromptu training opportunities, and in general I feel like I've just missed a lot by not being able to work with the larger variety of people that are online during the days.

I've always enjoyed working nights, but I feel that the benefits of moving to mornings/days are too great to pass up.

@jerry I've been pretty lucky (or I'm just not desirable enough 😅) to have a pretty tame LinkedIn experience. Most of my notifications are something like "other people in your network are following..." so I just ignore those.
@jerry I wouldn't mind getting a treadmill for my desk, but I'd have to find one that is easy to put away when not in use.
