PDX 🛫 LAX
Earlier this evening a LATAM Peru #LA2213 A320neo collided with an ARFF truck during its takeoff roll. The runway incursion led to the right engine sheering off, resulting in a major fire. The aircraft was nearly at rotation speed but thankfully it didn’t get airborne. All passengers are ok but the the condition of the ARFF crew unknown.
So, uh, welcome to Mastodon everyone

- Some of NJTs rolling stock is really showing its age. F40s hauling 40 year old Comets? What is this, METRA?!
- The air quality in PATH stations is very bad
- Old Penn Station is coming together nicely, believe it or not
- Sutphin Blvd/JFK E/J station is disgracefully gross

Lessons learned/reaffirmed from today’s NYC #TransitAdventure with @RM_Transit:

- The region is so badly in need of fare unification and integration
- Weekday service is good! We had good headways on all lines
- HBLR is underrated and should be copied throughout the region https://t.co/dKcl9aLv0R

.@RM_Transit is in town and asked if I wanted to ride some trains with him. Obviously yes.

Today I rode the B, M, R, E, LIRR, NJT x2, HBLR, PATH, J, Q x2 trains.
