Visiting Montreal for work and decided to try AirPods Live Translation for the flight attendant instructions…

Maybe a warning about exchange rates?

@stroughtonsmith Disappinting but I guess 6K @ 120Hz with real bandwidth for peripherals isn’t something TB5 can handle.

My XDR might be the favorite investment I ever made. Here’s hoping it lasts another 5+ years!

@gruber @mwichary I think something broke with Copy/Paste in 26.2 or 26.3

It occasionally fails for me now on a few apps, including Notes, and it's driving me crazy.

The worst is screen-capture which I use all the time to drop images in Slack. Cmd+C and the Copy menu both fail at times

No idea how new this is, but the App Store now uses 50% of the screen to show an ad for the thing you weren’t searching for.

Gotta keep growing that services revenue I guess!

@carnage4life It’s the same as getting the best out of coding agents.

Instead of asking for the output you think you need, ask for a plan to solve the problem you have. Then have the agent implement that approach.

There’s a parable about good management here too.

@aras @sschoener here’s a good post about ways that I’ve found LLMs like being held :) In short have them plan up front, and provide a validation method for them to test against.

Introducing GPT-5.2-Codex

@stroughtonsmith it's still striking to me how solitary all the environments on Vision Pro are. A type of “last person on Earth” experience.

The environments on Meta Quest are lower fidelity but just feel warmer due to the settings and little signs of life.

@ludovic I used to do this at Lucasfilm. “Wet Wookie” went unquestioned for three weeks IIRC…

@stroughtonsmith have you tried Remote Desktop, and HDMI input from an iPhone for movies?

The slightly lower fidelity / inconvenience is more than accounted for by the lighterweight of the headset for me.

@stroughtonsmith This might be the best phone review I've ever seen. The deep-dive on battery performance is great too - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uQHID_kjVSM
