I need to know who decided that applications should play alert sounds when you press backspace in an empty text field.
I am really struggling with the sense of scale in these Call of Cthulhu adventures, and I wonder how seriously I should be taking it. In the adventure I'm reading now, a guy left on a trip by car from Arkham to Kingsport and decided to spend the night in a motel along the way.
But consulting the map (and confirming with a real map of Massachusetts), that's only a 4 mile drive. I go further than that to get lunch some days.
I made an entry for "24 Jam" the 24 hour game jam about clocks:
I ran "The Ties That Bind" for my Call of Cthulhu group tonight. It was very rough. The adventure gives you a meticulous schedule of events that should unfold, but then gives nothing for the players to do in the meantime. And so, they managed to completely derail everything by 1PM day 1, preventing the pre-planned monster encounter and NPC deaths that would occur overnight. I think I managed to salvage things in the end though.
I've given up on Silksong, i think. I got the first ending, generally enjoyed the experience up to that point. But then I decided to try and unlock Act 3, and that has been a completely miserable slog, and of course you can't look up hints about it without spoiling everything. I have zero clue how anyone was suppose to find Bilewater without looking it up, and now that I see it's another horrible maggot water zone, I'm just not gonna do it.
