@jrychter @rizzi End of discussion for me. I don't want your inevitable virtue signalling ("look, I'm a developer, that means I know better!"), better-knowing, patronising answer.
@jrychter @rizzi If you want to give Rizzi a lot of money, go ahead! If you want to pay a subscription, subscribe to the new Reeder! And leave the Reeder Classic users alone with the one-time-purchase! Don't be so arrogant to enforce your opinion on everyone else who may disagree with you, and don't patronise Rizzi with wanting to help him get more money... he is an adult, a successful developer, and he knows how he wants to make money from his users. He doesn't need your well-meaning advice.
@jrychter @rizzi yadayadayada. You think you know it all because you're a developer. I have two brothers with a Master of Science in CS, and one brother with a PhD in CS. They're all developers, and we all talk a lot about software engineering and tech.

@jrychter @rizzi I just checked the iOS App Store sales...

Reeder Classic is Nr. 1 in the Top Paid Apps charts in the News section... NR. 1! Meanwhile the new Reeder is not even in the charts of the Top Free Apps in the News section.

As I said, these iOS sales are IN ADDITION to the Mac App Store sales.

Reeder Classic with a one time purchase makes A LOT MORE money, while the new Reeder with subscription makes A LOT LESS money.

Rizzi doesn't need charity for Reeder Classic to exist.

@jrychter @rizzi So you say Reeder Classic makes <$1/year...

> As of now, Reeder Classic is in the top 10 on place 3 (just 2 ahead of it) from the Top Paid Apps on the Mac App Store in the News section, while the new Reeder is on place 11 from the Top Free Apps. iOS sales are separate additional income.
This means the old Reeder makes more money than the new one.

If you desperately want a subscription, then don't drag others with you. Perhaps a tip jar would be a good idea for people like you.

@jrychter @rizzi Not everyone has money to spare like you do. Going subscription for all because you want to is unfair. If you want to support him, tip him or gift Reeder 10x times and give the codes to your friends and family.

@jrychter @rizzi He has considered it, and made the right decision not to force subscriptions on his loyal Reeder customers, it says it right there in his messages.

Feel free to use the new Reeder and pay a subscription.

@rizzi Thank you for doing it the right way with Reeder Classic. It's still the best RSS reader out there, and I appreciate you valuing your longtime customers.
