The administrator account for Sizecraft, run by @yagokoro.
It looks like Sendgrid has stopped their free email API service entirely and all emails are failing to send as a result. I will be closing sign-ups until I can figure out a replacement or if I am going to pay for service.
I apologize for the delays in user approvals once again. For whatever reason the emails indicating that there are pending administration decisions do not appear to be sending. I will investigate this ASAP.
My apologies for any delays in approving new users. I was away for an extended period and missed the emails notifying me of pending accounts. I'll take steps in the future to ensure this does not happen again.
Oh, and I have something planned to post... but it's not ready yet. Expect it in the next few weeks if all goes well.

I missed it by a day, but 1 year ago on July 7th I officially opened up Sizecraft for public sign-ups. While the thrill of a new service and the excitement of exploring the fediverse may have died down, I'm surprised at how many active users we have.

Here's to another year of growing!

For reasons I'm not entirely sure of, sidekiq crashed and refused to restart meaning federation jobs and push notifications were not being handled for a few hours. I have fixed the issue and am monitoring the situation further.
Maintenance is complete and all services should now be back online.
I will be taking sizecraft.social offline for system upgrades for about 2 hours on Friday night EDT around 11:30pm (15:30 UTC). Mastodon and FxMastodon will be unavailable during this time. Matrix will still be online during this period.

This upcoming weekend I will be reevaluating some of the federation limits I have placed on other servers during the ban wave, and possibly adding the current blocklist to this instance.

I'd love to continue my policy of not having any federation limits at all in this server, but for the moment, ActivityPub doesn't have any tools to deal with spam beyond federation limits.

I also will be considering using https://github.com/Mastodon-DE/blocklists if the problem persists.

Information about the nature of the ongoing spam wave is still scarce and likely not fully accurate, but this article seems to go into detail with some reasonable citations to back up their claims.

Cyberbullying Gone Global: Fediverse Spam and Operation Beleaguer

On February 15th, newly-created Fediverse accounts started posting spam messages from various instances, sending invites to a Discord server for a Japanese troll organization. This spam was widespread across the Fediverse. The posts frame ap12 from “KuronekoServer” as the culprit behind the operation.  Looking at their spam content (in Japanese)
