Missing email notification ?

!Friendica Admins Hi Admins. I've setup a test instance, friendica.u3a.social, so I can explore adminstration (and generally break things before the final ...

@u3acommunities.org @crotchety @V96GLF @jpkatlarge @JohnAaronRose @caww @khleedril @Yve_rose1 @annehole I think what we need is -

* Friendica "Community Group" user for any discussion groups
* Friendica "News" user that follows u3a related sources

will this arrive to all ?

Firstly I've written up the status of the u3a.social idea here u3acommunities.org/u3a-social-… ... this pages allows comments so feel free to add any thoughts.

But now I've fired up test site at friendica.u3a.social and I've started to explore its configuration and how it might suit us best. I would normally start with some sort of requirements, but its useful to have a tinker to understand the tool better.

The site is federating (eg u3acommunity meetings appear in the calendar) and I've fixed email so that join notifications should now work.

Assume all data on this test site will be deleted once testing has finished.

I think my main question at the moment is to how best make use of groups. I was hoping we could setup friendica groups for specific u3a groups, but also have regional and subject orientated groups. So something like :

* all of u3acommunities
* u3acommunities computing group only
* u3acommunities history group only
* wokingham region
* wokingham science group only
* home automation
* knitting
....

but I'm not quite seeing how this can be achieved. I've not found a good guide on how group structure can be designed.

For some of these groups it might be useful to follow some feeds .... eg @u3acommunities.org or #u3a so that users can join the group and get useful relevant streams.

Any thoughts or experiences ?

Note that I've got limited free time over the next few weeks but I'll tinker when I can. I can grant admin access to this test site if anyone wants to explore.

Pete
