UPDATE: The sign-up bug has been fixed! Here's confirmation in the Codeberg repo:

https://codeberg.org/calckey/calckey/issues/10033

When trying to sign up to calckey.social, you will no longer be told that registrations are closed.

We regret the confusion, and look forward to new folks joining us on
#Calckey!

See screenshot of confirmed fix.
[Bug]: After sign-ups are re-enabled, there's a notice that still says "Signups on this server are currently disabled"

### What happened? After disabling sign-ups for a day on calckey.social then re-enabling them, there is a notice at the top of the sign-in screen that says, "Signups on this server are currently disabled, but you can always sign up at another server! If you have an invitation code for this server, please enter it below." This is followed by a button that says, "Find another server". Below this notice, there's a sign up form that allows people to sign up for a Calckey account. People are able to sign up for calckey.social, but some are being bounced from sign up process due to that bug. See screenshot. ![sign up bug.png](/attachments/c373c18d-88b0-4202-aa6c-b22c7443c57c) ### What did you expect to happen? After re-enabling sign-ups, the notice of sign-ups being disabled should go away. ### Version Calckey 13.0.4 ### Instance calckey.social ### What browser are you using? Firefox ### Relevant log output _No response_ ### Contribution Guidelines - [ ] I agree to follow this project's Contribution Guidelines

Now that open registrations have been re-enabled on calckey.social, we've discovered a bug that there's still a notice telling potential new users that registrations have been disabled.

Not only is this inaccurate, there's a sign-up form underneath the notice that allows you to sign-up for calckey.social.

This is a bug that's been filed on our codeberg repo:

https://codeberg.org/calckey/calckey/issues/10033

We are working on a fix.

In the meantime, if you want to register an account on calckey.social, please ignore that notice and continue with your registration.

See screenshot of the bug.

Thank you to everyone
@lf_araujo who spotted this bug.

When opening Calckey, numerous users report seeing a page that says "No page corresponding to that URL could be found."

After an investigation, we've determined that this is caused by the Graze extension for Firefox and Chrome.

That extension is quite useful for Mastodon. Unfortunately, it doesn't work so well for Calckey. It is a known bug, and the author of Graze says he'll fix it with a future update.

In the meantime, we urge everyone who uses Graze to disable it while using Calckey until it's fixed.

Thank you to everyone who's reported this bug. We are working hard to make Calckey the best experience on the Fediverse.

Six Months In: Thoughts On The Current Post-Twitter Diaspora Options

Today is six months since Elon took over Twitter and began this bizarre speedrun of the content moderation learning curve in which he seems to repeatedly… not learn a damn thing. Over and over agai…

Do you know that Calckey supports multiple windows inside a webpage?

To create a new window, right click on a button on the left navigation panel. This will initiate a dropdown menu. On that dropdown menu, select "Open in new window".

This will launch a new window. You can do this multiple times for multiple windows!

See screenshot for what this looks like.
One neat aspect about Calckey is that you can make "Local only" posts.

When you select that option in your post's visibility, that means your post will
only be seen by your local Calckey server. It will not be visible to remote servers.

See screenshot.
Go to Settings > Import / Export Data. From here you can import followed users.

You can also import lists, mutes, and blocks.

See screenshot.
