@Bandrew Do you know what mic this is?

vc: @csb

@adam @Bandrew @csb it's the AEA KU5A ribbon microphone. Great mic. Unlike other ribbons it has a more of a directional pattern.

@adam @csb yes sir. That is the AEA KU5A. It's an active supercardioid ribbon mic. It has a very healthy output because of the active electronics so it avoids the common Ribbon mic issue of being too quiet. And it's also supercardioid, so fewer issues comb filtering on the rear lobe of sensitivity indoors. But it still offers that rich and smooth ribbon sound.

I did a full review of that mic a few years back. Sounds fantastic if you want that darker sound. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qD_i_W63JLw

@Bandrew thank you! I think I need to try it out. Love the sound of it!

@adam

I’m shure that @Bandrew could borrow that mic to you as he has many microphones that he is not using and just stay after he did reviews of them

just talk to each other via DM or email

otherwise you could spend $1500 in vain and then don’t like the sound: some microphones sound well only with some voices not with all

@csb @adam just dm me and we can work something out Adam.
