As the 3rd Special Session of the 88th Legislative Session continues, we would like to ask our community to please reach out to our local Reps Bucy, Goodwin, and Talarico and let them know that Round Rock ISD recognizes their support and appreciates them for standing up for our schools.

Let us also use our collective voice to remind Rep Harris that we see her too & we'd like her to support our schools as well. All of these reps' districts touch RRISD, so let's show them who they speak for!

We, at Access Education RRISD, feel it is imperative to defend the right to read at every available opportunity. Representation in books is often a lifeline for many students, and so, a diverse selection of reading materials is needed to serve all students.
As Yom Kippur approaches, we wish an easy and meaningful fast to all who observe.

Yay for Prop A!

Despite a historic budget surplus, the state legislature refused to increase funding for education this past session. We believe public education is essential to our democracy, and the educators in our district deserve better. In order to give our teachers and staff a much needed raise, we’ll need to show our support at the ballot box this November and vote Yay for Prop A!

On the agenda: dirty talk

School vouchers are back on the menu this week, as the House Select Committee on Educational Opportunity and Enrichment meets during this special session. For two days, the committee will hear only invited testimony to discuss:

*using tax money to subsidize private schools;
*improving student outcomes;
*supporting educators and support staff; and
*modernizing assessment and accountability.
