Announcing a title for 2024 "Fathoms in the Earth". This is an invite anthology built around archetypal characters from "The Tempest" with story titles borrowed from the film "Prospero's Books". There will be a KS campaign involved next year so AaN can do something quite special.
The book's intrepid author quartet came up with some very inventive maps. Always fun when I can get authors involved in that way.
We received the final story for our upcoming "The Dérive" anthology involving psychogeography. The book will be out this summer. The writers did such a fab job with stories and maps. Off now to the copy editor.
Don’t bother submitting a story to us that you used Sudowrite to generate.
Authors are welcome to shift word counts between these three parts of their submission, but they must stay within a range of 1500 words for the total submission (ex. a 500 word title,
a 600 word narrative, and 400 words of footnotes.)

Possible story ideas - fantasy research papers, weird hard SF science reports, alt-history documents, strange dictionaries, magical realism monster treatises.

The more verbose the title - the better (goodness knows though what the ToC page will end up looking like); the more concise the text - the better; the more copious the footnotes, endnotes, marginalia, indices - the better as well.

Our OC for 'Moving Across the Landscape in Search of an Idea' is now posted - http://aanpress.com/Moving_2024_submission.pdf (see our Submissions page for all 2024 OCs - http://aanpress.com/submissions.html)

We are looking for stories with long titles (minimum 250 words, maximum 600 words), concise narratives (minimum 250 words, maximum 600 words) and copious footnotes, endnotes, marginalia, indices and glossaries (minimum 250 words, maximum 600 words). All genres are welcome.

The OC has been a bit more refined. 1500 word stories: 300-600+ words for the title, 250-600+ words for the text, 250-600+ words for the endnotes, footnotes, glossaries, etc... Authors can move word count from one section to another as needed to reach the 1500-ish max.
I believe this will be the eventual cover for “Moving Across the Landscape in Search of an Idea” (2024 publication). Will post OC info on the AaNP site within a week (http://aanpress.com/submissions.html), once the calendar of submission/review dates is determined.
