Hard to reach any sort of inflection point like that with infighting. Crabs in a barrel will remain crabs in a barrel. People on Reddit legit trashing Cory Booker for saying the wrong things during a filibuster right now
I bind the mouse thumb buttons to win+ctrl+left/right to flip back and forth between virtual desktops and just use my thumb to toggle back and forth between something with numbers I need to look at, and something I need to add those numbers to. But camping left hand on numpad way over to the right eventually feels awkward, it’d probably feel more comfortable to have numpad to the left more closely aligned to my left shoulder because my right hand never moves off my mouse for nothing
I went from learning to touch type at a bajillion wpm by playing World of Warcraft, to only using my desktop to filing taxes, and desktop UI is now sometimes overwhelming. PDF viewers and image editors, holy shit, where should I begin in my hunt to do some minor tweak? Looks like a Boeing 787 flight deck in comparison to a phone’s UI, menus and buttons all over the place. I’m not bad to the point that I click random buttons and turn it into a mess, but I can see how someone would just stumble around

Perhaps surprisingly, dietary cholesterol has less an effect on blood cholesterol than a handful of other things. Saturated fat intake/balance in diet correlates more strongly, and vitamin D levels negatively correlates (vitamin D deficiency positively correlates).

Dietary cholesterol is used for a lot of key things such as hormone production, so some people might actually want to increase their cholesterol intake (super active lifestyle people like endurance athletes - can help combat RED-S aka Female Athlete Triad), but the elephant in the room for bad lipid profiles is saturated fats, refined sugars, and sedentary lifestyle

Hard to justify blowing a couple grand on a card when 5 years of GeForce Now costs well under half that amount. I normally dislike subscriptions but this one is solid IMO
You can still blacklist Twitter and any lazy ass ‘journalists’ that make an article based on a Twitter post and hotlink to said post. Many ways to say fuck Elon Musk
My (now) wife had a poster of the Roadster in her bedroom when it was a concept car and she was in her teens. Her parents eventually got a Model S but now they talk about how embarassed they feel driving it around. She must’ve had that poster from back when Elon was just that balding kid from Paypal lol
I have a newer C4 and I don’t think it’s bad. It’s not too obtrusive and there are guides to opt out of everything, but then again I’m not too concerned with data privacy in regard to my television, so I might be biased

Something like that happened to me, a friend was talking to me about it back in 2009-2010 because I had my computers churning Folding At Home protein folding stuff. It went over my head, I was skeptical, and I continued using my graphics cards for the non-Bitcoin thing.

Flash forward to January 2014, recovering from my first ear surgery, isolated and miserable. Dogecoin was really small and becoming a meme on Reddit, and out of boredom I started mining that and got a bunch of Microsoft Azure trial subscriptions and CPU mined it with those, made a couple hundred thousand Dogecoin.

Flash forward to 2021, Doge went from nothing to like 50 cents, and I was thoroughly convinced I had long since lost my wallet data, but pulled out all my old USBs and drives and ran recovery, and that wallet and a text file containing what was presumed to be the password were all over the place.

Text file was a couple pages of characters, like something out of a conspiracy theorist’s fever dream. Was I supposed to omit every other character? Am I supposed to remove the 0s and As? Beat the hell out of me, I forgot. Pointed 2 1080 Ti at that and spent a month trying to crack the password off that document. No dice.

The night I was gonna call off the search I wanted to try one last thing: try cracking each individual line as opposed to using the entire document. Less than 10 seconds later, password found. Turns out it was just the 2nd line in that document. Fucking A man, hidden in plain sight, past me thought anyone would presume it’s hashed or something, and future me fell for it hard

I think the biggest thing is convenience. It’s a lot easier for the launcher to do some handshakes and check/update to current patch. Other way is client opening, client closing, patch applied, client opens yet again, that type of deal
